We recently had an increase in clients asking for funeral cover from our beautiful neighbor Namibia. Although we are based in South Africa, we now have representatives in Namibia too. We are currently one of the biggest AVBOB funeral insurance brokers in the nation. We serve many 1000’s of happy clients every year. We specialize in funeral insurance and take a lot of pride in what we do.
As we all know, it does not matter where in the world you call home. Unfortunately, people will always pass away. Everybody in Namibia needs to have funeral insurance. On this page, we will look at some of the reasons why you need to be prepared for the inevitable.
The above is probably the most critical question. What is this policy, and what will it do for my family and me. Firstly, it’s an insurance product. It’s much the same as insurance your vehicle against loss. In this case, you insure a life when they die. A funeral plan does not replace a life policy. This plan intends to make money available quickly. This money will, in most cases, be used to bury a loved one.
In short, you can insure multiple lives on your policy. If one of those lives are lost due to natural causes or an accident, the money will be made available quickly. Funerals are not only expensive in Namibia, its expensive everywhere. You have to make sure you prepare for the inevitable.
Depending on the provider, you can usually cover your direct and indirect family members. For example, you can cover your spouse, kids, and parents plus 6 – 9 extended family members. You can include your siblings, grandparents, and other members of your family. The more members you add, the higher the cost. You can select a coverage amount for each person you want to cover. It’s essential to make sure you let the people who you cover to know that they are getting protection under your plan.
Once again depending on the provider, ages, cover levels, etc. you look at roughly around N$10 p/m for every N$1000 cover. We help you find the best rate for your needs. We want to make sure it’s an affordable product and will add value to your insurance portfolio. Most providers will have a policy starting from around N$40 p/m. The final cost is calculated at the end, depending on your needs.
Ask yourself the question, if one or more people in your family had to pass away today? Would you be able to pay for the funeral(s) out of your own pocket? In most cases, everybody in Namibia and across the world should prepare for death. It does not matter how old you are. Death can happen to anybody on any day. We know this is a somber topic but its reality. Unfortunately, this is life. It’s the responsible thing to make sure you have the funds available to bury a loved one with dignity.
We operate our call centre in both South Africa & Namibia. All you need to do is submit a contact form on this page. Your details will be sent to a friendly agent. Our agent will get in touch via telephone or email. Feel free to give us some instructions in the optional comments section. We will explain the product and give you a free quote. If you are satisfied with the results, we will arrange everything for you.
With most providers, you will receive cover from your very first premium. There is usually a six month waiting period for natural causes. This waiting period is because you do not have to undergo any medical examination to join. Accidental death does not have a waiting period. Some providers provide immediate accidental death cover as soon as the application is accepted. We explain to you all the benefits of the provider you select before we give you a free quote.
Once you sign up, we will send you a welcome pack with all the details surrounding the policy. This pack is sent to you directly from the provider you select. Here you will find a detailed procedure on how to claim. You can contact the provider directly to get the process started. If you need any help with your claim, you can also get in touch with us.
